Mvua Press, an imprint of eKitabu, is dedicated to publishing high-quality books by African authors. Our mission is to bring diverse African voices to readers across the continent and beyond, in formats that are inclusive, engaging, and accessible.

We take a comprehensive approach to publishing by editing or re-editing manuscripts, creating fresh and consistent designs for both print and digital editions, recording audiobooks in our award-winning in-house studio, digitizing ebooks, and adapting content into accessible formats such as braille and sign languages.

We invite submissions of manuscripts by African authors of creative fiction and non-fiction in all genres. Submissions must include: 

• Author information: name, contact details, and social media links.
• Book information: Title, genre, number of words, and a synopsis of 250-500 words.
• At least three chapters of the manuscript. For poetry, authors should send at least five poems.

The submission window will run until 30 September 2026.
